FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Exercise Physiologist, also known as an EP, is a university qualified allied health practitioner who specialises in the prescription of exercise. Exercise Physiologists work in a variety of settings and use exercise for the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and injury as well as general improvements in health and fitness.
Exercise physiologists can help individuals to specifically treat their illness or injury with exercise therapy. They can also prescribe exercise as a secondary treatment with the goal of optimising general health and fitness in times of illness or injury.
While exercise physiologists are trained to provide exercise services for individuals who have various medical needs, they can also work with individuals without any specific health conditions, who may be looking to improve their general health, wellness and fitness.
