What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Exercise Physiologist, also known as an EP, is a university qualified allied health practitioner who specialises in the prescription of exercise. Exercise Physiologists work in a variety of settings and use exercise for the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and injury as well as general improvements in health and fitness.
Exercise physiologists can help individuals to specifically treat their illness or injury with exercise therapy. They can also prescribe exercise as a secondary treatment with the goal of optimising general health and fitness in times of illness or injury.
While exercise physiologists are trained to provide exercise services for individuals who have various medical needs, they can also work with individuals without any specific health conditions, who may be looking to improve their general health, wellness and fitness.
What is Mindful Eating Coaching?
Am I Hungry?® Mindful eating coaching helps you to re-establish a healthy relationship with food. The coaching process helps in developing the following skills for mindful eating:
-
Awareness of your physical and emotional cues for eating-
-
Recognition of your non-hunger triggers for eating
-
Learning to meet your other needs in more effective ways than eating
-
Choosing food for both enjoyment and nourishment
-
Eating for optimal satisfaction and satiety
-
Mindful Eating is not another quick fix. It is not another diet and it is not about losing weight. But it is a game changer!
What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching can be a helpful experience in many ways! The process is focused on the changes you would like to make for your health, and how you may go about making those changes. Together we will establish a plan, brainstorming ways of overcoming potential barriers and making the best use of your skills and resources, to help facilitate the changes you would like to make.
Health coaching doesn't provide all the answers, but rather, asks the important questions! This helps in navigating the abundance of health related information we are constantly bombarded with, filtering out what is truly important to you.
Each of us has different wants, needs, resources and skills. Health coaching honours the individual nature of health and focuses entirely on your vision and intention for a healthier lifestyle.
